Curling is played in the ice rink from the beginning of September until the end of March.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays are our curling days with the ice available from 2.00pm-5.00pm on Mondays and 10.00am-5.00pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Club Leagues play from 5.00pm-9.00pm Monday-Wednesday.

Instruction is available at all times during the season from our staff and all equipment is provided. All you have to take along is a pair of cleaned soled shoes, ideally trainers.

If you would like to join any of the Clubs, just contact a member of ice staff and they will pass on your details to the Club closest to your location who will then get in touch with you.

CURLING BONSPIELS

 
Bonspiels are tournaments or gatherings of teams on a set day in a set place. These originated as social events and modern day bonspiels still hold that feeling, although competition is sometimes fierce! Local companies sponsor most of the bonspiels.

CURLING TALENT PROGRAMME

Back row:- Josh Kellock - Tech College Boss, Mike Devenney - Principal of Elgin Technical College, Gordon Kelly, Grant Stephen.  Front row:- Eilidh Yates, Angela Fraser - Ice Manager at Moray Leisure Centre, and Amy McDonald. 

All 5 are members of the Moray Junior Curling Club and play and train at Moray Leisure Centre. 

The prospects for these 5 are very good indeed with the Curlers being taught by Moray Province Development Group toa Royal Academy level although they are still in the Performance Talent Programme.  They will be competing in three National Slam competitions in December 2012 in the Central belt of Scotland and our hopes are high of good results.  They achieved promotion last year in the Moray Province and move up to Division 4 this season.  The Elgin Technical College have helped provide sponsorship.  Without this, they would be self supporting and they are delighted with sponsors who have come forward to assist them.  It was recorded aat the gathering of coaches in Stirling, thay Moray Junior Club has one of the biggest memberships in Scotland and the fastest growth of juniors in the UK.
