Learners Pool
Admissions Policy
Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult of at least 16 years of age whilst using the pool. There is a maximum of 2 under 8's to one adult at all times and children under 5 should ideally be accompanied on a one-to-one basis, regardless of swimming ability.
The learner pool is the ideal place for you to introduce your baby or child to swimming. Having the comfort of the extra warmth of the water and also the more relaxed environment from the main pool, it is a great venue for either learning or fun swimming.

Activities in the learner pool include:-
Swimming Lessons
The Centre has a vast and comprehensive swimming lessons programme. Introductory classes start as young as 4 years, with progression through the different strokes.
Parents and Toddlers
These sessions take place on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30pm until 4.00pm (Tadpoles coached session at 3.00pm and Ducklings at 3.30pm), and on Friday mornings from 10.30am until 12.30pm, and take place in the learner pool. Encouraging your baby to develop his/her swimming ability has, at this young stage, proven to help with development of alertness, crawling and walking.
Pool Parties
Each pool party includes playing games with a qualified member of staff in the deep end of the learner pool. This party also includes a meal of your choice from our menu, music and party bags. Pool parties currently take place on a Wednesday and Saturday Evenings and can be booked through Reception. However, with effect from 17th August Pool parties will only be held on Saturday evenings. For further details check out our parties page .
Disabled Swimming
Our two swimming sessions for people with special needs are on a Friday morning between 9.00am-10.30am and on a Saturday evening between 6.00pm and 7.00pm.
